SPRING 2010

HIYA GUYS   its been a while since i wrote  as so much has been going on in my life , , from 2009  i have been working strongly on a few projects to do with FLASHBACK  history of UK black music , the film , ,tour , and a number of other things. Last year we lost a few people who were close to us , one of them Mr. PAUL HARVEY who worked behind the scenes for various artists and LJ MUSIC ,he helped us in many numerous ways  including my old Imagination producer Tony swain and myself. His departing was very sudden and devastating to us all. A very fun loving character who had belief in Music talent and was a great supporter in that area. It is never easy when a life is taken from you, someone that is special in your life that meant so much to your being. When someone passes all the old memories of the past, seem to all come back, and your mind begins to wander and you start to remember those GREAT times that have now passed you by. I have a theory that earth is HELL as there is so much suffering in the world today, with human disasters, war, crime, climate crisis etc. I feel that when our spirits leave in human form that we then find our Heaven, our resting place, our souls take a form where our minds are finally free and our bodies become part of the spiritual universe. We can prepare ourselves if we take stock of each other as representatives of the earth; we have a choice to care about each other, our neighbours, friends, family and spread more LOVE among ourselves. Sometimes  the world seems to spin out of control  with all the tragedy , anguish and human suffering , so if we can in OUR OWN SMALL WAY try and take charge , more responsibility of our families , the babies , the children , the adults , the aged , , the education, our health .If you have read CHAIRMAN LEEE S thoughts before then you know  that my motto is to LET EVERY MOMENT COUNT - START TODAY -. If you have a moment where for that second  or minute you can share  love embrace it, treasure it, it maybe that LAST kiss that can inspire you , lift your spirits way beyond , reignite your emotions if they were dampened. AS spring arrives, and hopefully the weather changes, lets embrace our own change and look forward to the challenges that await us. Love yourself and others will love you, believe in yourself and others will believe in you, everyone in life has a chance.  WE all make mistakes, we are not perfect, then who is, we all go off the tracks, it takes time to get back on board, for some longer than others. SPRING 2009

HI Guysi habve getting LOTS, LOTS and LOTS of emails ,requests for the CHAIRMAN to speak .Is been a a very busy couple of months filled with a lot various , different situations All pertaining to the world of ENTERTAINMENT .That does not mean that i have been out of touch to whats going on  in the REAL world  with CRISIS , RECESSION etc . I say to friends that i was brought up in a recession   MY meaning is everyday has its trials and tribulations  which we all face in different situations , but the media in my opinion has a lot to answer too for not giving more positive solutions instead of negative press and tv  we all need more UPLIFTMENT in these times . As we  need to stimulate the youth with spiritual positive messages , so they can carry themselves with strength , pride and dignity and willpower to break the barriers of negativity down. So they  the future of tomorrow can see the need  for education , the sense of having pride within themselves . We are in a interesting CHANGING TIME and there are so many roads to choose  especially on the political route , we ALL have choices in life  and not all of us will agree on social issues that effect our lives . I believe that there is a chance for all of us even in when times are rough , its like seeing the sun with different eyes ,we can help support each other by encouraging our friends , family and loved ones . I recently was introduced a very special person who had gone through a real tough time and rose  out of the ashes to be this real BRIGHT flame. One of the things that inspired this person was the one link we turn to escape was music , the lyrics , the atmosphere , the personal expression that can be felt by one human being in a melody can soothe the body,mind  soul  in so many ways .Its the link to communication especially when i travel to different parts of the world its the MUSIC . If we close our eyes an sit back  and think , listen and then understand , sometimes all the hassle of the day to day seems pointless . Lets enter SPRING with a deep breath of stronger security within ourselves , love you and then others will love you back  see you soon much LUV  THE CHAIRMAN xx

EARLY DAWN RISING

Its been a while since i put pen to paper , as so much has been going on in the world, my world ,as well as your world . At the ripe old age of 98 JANE WiLLIAMS my grandmother passed away in atlanta ,georgia where she lived via times in NEW YORK from her ST LUCIAN origins  from which she left during war about 1944. She came from a family of 13 and my family embarked in living  all over the world  panama, cuba , the usa , europe and canada during these times.My memories of my grandmother are fond and colorful as she was very proud , classy , dignified but also had a fire which no doubt kept her spirit going for all her 98 years . I was happy she lived so long and she had a fantastic send off with family ,(including my mother) flying in from all over the world  . After the funeral we all sat together at my aunt Lena and uncle godfreys house talking about our family origin and how we were all related .Some interesting things came out of that , which showed me how small the world is. My grandmother was always proud of my success in the music business but always worried as they were also aware of the highs and lows so it was interesting to know that the FAMILY kept their eyes on me , even though i was not aware of this .I have felt for a long time that a guardian angel or spiritual guide is with me through the good and bad times helping push through my creative ideas , music, and just forever being part of the universal learning tree as i am just a branch leaning out to the sun  to enrich  myself with  knowledge. Though family pass into the heavens , i feel an earth bound spirit still lives on in our minds and souls.Like going into a room where someone has  been you sense their presence is still there even though they have been gone for quite sometime. As the weather changes and the nights become darker  , we see the early dawn rising much later in our lives as there are lots of realizations in ALL our lives as we climb the LIFE  ladder .I have always heard and said also myself  ITS ALWAYS GOOD TO KEEP A BIT OF THE INNER CHILD WITHIN YOU - its that early innocence you were born with it makes you appreciate without being so cynical as we tend to get as we grow older.XMAS is a time that brings all our thoughts to the front , and with the world in a spin at the moment , some people are running scared , instead of standing still and observing then proceed with caution . I am  part of a movement    that wants to see more equality in every rank of business and that the pioneers who have achieved success in their capacities whether business or entertainment are due recognition but can also pass onto the youth of today   the KNOWLEDGE  of what we have all learnt to survive , black , white , asian , etc which is the Encyclopedia of Life . Though it is a hard period for many  we should take time for our family , friends , loved ones and those less fortunate than ourselves , WE MUST GIVE THANX to the UNIVERSE , GOD , ALLAH , BUDDAH , etc so that WE ALL can find the strength within us to carry on and fulfill our dreams and complete our destiny   may ALLL have a great and positive , loving CHRISTMAS and a NEW YEAR filled with dynamic energy , change and wonderous accomplishments .  With MUCH LOVE  to ALL LEEE J

SUMMER OF VARIABLES

This summer was great in some aspects, sad in others we are in a political climate of extreme sensitivity with crime, inflation, problems with the youths with knife and gun crimes inflated by the media in the uk. So many things can be done if we embrace the situations andtry to take hold of what is going on and NOT rely on others. We need to TAKE control. Be aware of our communities and the people that live there the children, neighbours, older people, we need communication, understanding and more education for our children so they can benefit the positives of life. On the news we see youth killing youth like its a video game we are watching and not doing enough to uplift these situations, these youths are the adults of the future the world will be in their hands not just the politicians. WE can always sit back and remember the goodtimes but its about TODAY and Tomorrow that counts as I always say learn from the past but dont live it, acknowledge it. STRENGTH < KNOWLEDGE < WISDOM BE POSITIVE CHAIRMAN LEEE

THERE'S ONLY ONE PETER HARRIS

We forget how important life is, getting up in the morning breathing in the air, seeing the sun, feeling the rays of the sun, seeing someone smile, just having a good thought or memory. Recently a close friend passed on to the great UNIVERSE. His spirit still lives within all his friends and family. THERE'S ONLY ONE PETER HARRIS, he was a great character, he ran, owned KICKIN records / SLIP AND SLIDE records in london. He lived for life and had a zest, energy and enigma that consumed all, may his spirit LIVE on. WE celebrate his life and ALL LIFE, ENJOY, digest, believe and DON'T stress. It makes NO sense as tomorrow is another day. There are always solutions. Be enriched by a daily challenge, educate yourself, DON'T be an addict to reality tv, be your own reality and live with positive motives, treat people as you treat yourself. We are reflections of each other: when we communicate. Take time for friends ,family and you , some have medical problems hard to overcome some feel depressed by there existance , some are just negative. WE ALL have problems of one concern or the other but EMBRACE the energy the universe offers you at this time, this moment MAKE YOUR CHANGE now. It's hard I know, we are all not perfect, but try and take a step bit by bit and soon you see the difference within and you will outwardly LIVE, LOVE, GIVE, SURVIVE, STRIVE, and BE. DONT BE LATE FOR 2008

TIME has passed since my last message, since September. Till now I have had a lot of CHANGES in my life, a new beginning in many ways. I always say CHANGE IS GOOD. It's wonderful to wake up in the mornings and be awakened by the rays of the sun, the birds exchanging conversation and being able to embrace the fresh air, see the green of the grass and tall leaning trees.

Time passes so quickly that before you decide to do something it's over. We have to enjoy what moments we have on this earth. Recently my grandmother celebrated her 98th birthday, it is such a feat to being able to see history through the different centuries, our growth in science and technology, our ecological progress and the state of the human condition. There are those this year who had trauma after trauma, but lucky enough they survived and with inner strength can carry on. There are others not so lucky for one reason or another where life took a negative stance. Some survive some don't.

Life has its dark and light sides, faith, hope, belief are allMANTRAS I often repeat as well as LET EVERY MOMENT COUNT, as we are not immortal. Time is of the eccence: MAKE USE OF IT. Appreciate your friends, family while they are still WITH US, forgive those who have wronged you as you are greater than them to be able to forgive. Things in relationships change, as we all have to grow, but I always, believe in the DREAM, the DREAM gives you the colours, the music, the images, the need to create, the DREAM can make you LOVE, forgive, trust. The dream can help you climb obstacles, mountains that seem so distant.

In my lifetime I have had more NOs than yes. It has always been a fight and it always will BUT to improve oneself YOU MUST MAKE MISTAKES, judgements are always the right choices but WE all have to take a risk to push that extra part of our being. In the end TIME IS TIME make more of it, each hurdle will make your inner core stronger for you to take on greater challenges. LOVE yourself and you be able to love others better, TIME is our master but don't let it control your destiny.

THE great DAWN of 2008 is upon us, the door is about to open to a new year. May it bring to you all wisdom, good opportunity, good health (which is important), good feelings within yourself, truth and LOVE.

MIND - BODY - SOUL

IT'S been a period for family festivity, the reunion of old friends and meeting a few new ones, we are sometimes aware of our own immortality, as people we LOVE to grow older or pass on to the other universe of life and spirit, as I grow into my own years, I feel a new energy, a surge of power that with knowledge, I want to grab all NEW situations and embrace them with a fresh outlook, NO does not come into my notebook if I get knocked down I'm like a duracell battery. I will fight to get back on my feet again. If I also can encourage others to do the same i will .Many younger artists do not have someone to beleive in them and have faith and strength and most important the discipline to maintain and control their careers. Everyday is a challenge led by disillusions, upheavals, dismay, dark clouds and you pray after all of this that there is a guiding light glimmering in the distance, like a guardian angel which i believe we all have, to help us during our moments of grief. I am very lucky to do the job i do, to entertain, to perform, to sing, write, act, produce, TO CREATE, to see colour, to hear melody, to harmonize, to get excited at the birth of a song, to dance and feel happy when the beat hits me, to be able to to love inwardly and outwardly, to spread love, to know how to love and understand it, to ALWAYS love though people may try and prevent you from feeling it, relationships dont always work but when they do be thankful, to love others one must love ones self. The term COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS is a phrase WE all should acknowledge from time to time...REMEMBER there are others who are 100 million times worse off than we are. I write these i call them mantras for me, for you just pray that reading these few words can help make a difference in your day-to-day, BE BLESSED, be positive, BE A WINNER as the power to be lies within you. After all LOVE CONQUERS all dont let the darkness destroy the light. I learned two words from the DAI LAMA recently which are linked if you think about INTELLIGENCE and DESIRE - just when you are about to step into the wrong zone becauce of your self desire, use your intelligence - we all forget and go to that dark place. Making mistakes is human, desires are put before us to see how intelligent we are in making the right decisions...its not easy, no one said it would be, but take each day and make it the best day you ever had, make it always the right moment, the right day, as today is your beginning.

CHAINS

THIS month has been the anniversary of the abolition of slavery in Great Britain from the 1800s, 30 years since ROOTS the tv film about KUNTE KINTE and Alex Haileys search to find the origin of his family tree going from GHANA in Africa to America where his ancestors were bought and sold as SLAVES. Slavery in a sense still exists in certain areas of the world through the DIAMOND trade, children and females being taken from their homes and sold into prostitution, families broken up to work in diamond fields, drug plantations, etc. The chains are still binding the Human flesh, even in this 21st century just the dynamic has changed ......... Let these moments that we so often forget of others hardships and their flights for freedom, expression ,to just be FREE MEN and WOMEN in a FREE society, their struggles, their plight to challenge for change to BREAK the CHAINS. Let us honor those who have come before us because it's in their footsteps we are following, as they led the way for us to exist, the legions of Black MEN, WOMEN and children who died on slaveships, who fought in the civil rights movement, who fought for the right to be free from persecution, ignorance and racism. Let us acknowledge the breaking of the CHAINS...the movement still grows for true freedom for all around the world. Have FAITH,

PUT A FRESH SPRING IN YOUR STEP

Spring is here and a touch of sushine, lightness is about to encapture us the early part of the year is sometimes a struggle for some so its great when the season changes so we can bond stronger together and plan out our future. Sometimes it's a moment of chasing your tail, uncertainty, doubts,being anxious, wanting to scream at LIFE, TAKE THE TIME to be by yourself and think for a moment of the gifts that the UNIVERSE has given you. No matter how lacking you are in life YOU must make your own Opportunity, take time to reflect then take that fresh step and spring into the next path.

To hope, to dream, to yearn can get you closer to your DREAMS.

BLESSINGS

This month its counting our blessings praising everyday the gifts that the eternal spirit has given us ,we have some of us all our senses but each one of us has SOMETHING SPECIAL to give to the universe .Each day we grow older , bolder and hopefully wiser, as each step we take leads to a greater path sense of being . Recently i realized on a personal level some of my own home truths the good, the bad ,the indifferent i am of the blood and soil of the earth and will make mistakes just like anyone but i realize for me to forgive others i must forgive my self , not to hold bitterness , i remember things but try not to keep the negatives, but COUNT THE BLESSINGS count good things what has made us who and what we are ,remember that song everytime you put it on sends you back to a special place, a GOLDEN memory , that presence is always and will be with you forever and we all have that BLESSING. I am gratful for those around me who make ME who i am and you should with those around you as WE MAKE EACH OTHER, when it rains i always believe that GOD, BUDDAH, ALLAH all the prophets ,the departed souls the spirits above are clearing away the darkness and giving us all a rainful BLESSING, tears of joy, tears of hope ,tears of and strength REMEMBER evertime it rains its a BLESSING (LAUGH) .
